Search & Social Advertising
Buyers use them for demand capture on search intent and demand generation on social feeds, and increasingly for retail media where the two converge on a retailer's own search results. The practical decision is rarely which network to use, since most advertisers run several, but which management layer sits above them and how much control the native platforms still allow.
What is search & social advertising software?
Search & Social Advertising covers the platforms where advertisers buy auction-based inventory on search engines and social networks, plus the third-party tools that manage bidding, creative production and reporting across them.
How many search & social advertising platforms are there?
The Opsmarshal Terminal tracks 20 active search & social advertising platforms as of 2026-08-30, within a marketing technology landscape of 15,505 products. Each entry links to the vendor’s own site and, where one was captured, its review source.
What to look for
- Native consoles are increasingly automated and increasingly opaque. Performance Max and Advantage+ hide placement and query data, so if you need channel-level control or attribution you have to plan for it with scripts, third-party tools and offline conversion import.
- Third-party platforms are priced as a percentage of ad spend (Smartly, Quartile, Skai) or on a subscription tier (Optmyzr, Adalysis, Opteo, Bïrch, Madgicx). Below roughly six figures of annual spend the percentage models rarely pay for themselves.
- Separate media buying from account maintenance. Optmyzr, Adalysis and Opteo do not buy media at all; they audit and optimise accounts that still run in Google and Microsoft. Buying one expecting a media platform is a common mis-scope.
- B2B and B2C need different shortlists. LinkedIn Ads and Metadata exist for pipeline-based optimisation with long sales cycles; Meta, TikTok, Snapchat and Pinterest optimise on purchase events that B2B advertisers do not have.
- Measurement now depends on server-side event capture. Conversions API on Meta, enhanced conversions on Google and consent mode configuration decide reported performance more than bidding strategy does, so audit tagging before you blame the channel.
- Retail media is a distinct discipline with distinct tools. Amazon Ads, Pacvue, Quartile and Skai handle catalogue-scale campaign generation that general PPC tools cannot, and the buying team usually sits with commerce, not with paid search.
- Creative volume is the binding constraint on paid social. Targeting control has narrowed across every major platform, so evaluate tools on how many tested variants they can produce and analyse, not on audience-building features.

How this list is built. Platforms are placed in this category by their
public positioning, and ordered alphabetically by company name — this is a reading order,
not a ranking, and it does not indicate quality, popularity, or evidence strength. Ratings appear only where captured
from a named review source with a capture date; a missing number means no qualifying evidence stored,
not a judgment about the vendor. Vendor and review links are unpaid and carry nofollow.
Sponsored placement, where it exists, is labeled separately and never reorders this list.
